Djokovic Denied Entry to the US, withdraws from Miami Open
Novak Djokovic has been denied entry to the United States based on his anti forced vaccination stance. He has pulled out of the Miami Open and at this time it looks probable that he will not be able to compete in the US Open. At the time of this writing Djokovic is tied with Rafael Nadal at 23 Grand Slams for the most Grand Slam Wins in Tennis History. It awaits to be seen if the US Government will reverse their decision.
Jannik Sinner win Montpellier
Jannik Sinner dominates Montpellier without dropping a set. The Italian beat American Maxime Cressey in the finals 7-6 (3) 6-3. Sinner was tested midway through the second saving 4 break points and then grabbing an early 4-0 lead in the Tiebreak.
Novak Djokovic wins 2023 Australian Open
Novak wins the 2023 Australian open continuing his reign as the tournament’s greatest champion. After beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in a straight set match Novak captured his 10th Australian open win and returns to the #1 spot in the world ATP rankings. It looks to be a exciting year of tennis as Nadal and Djokovic duel for the top spot in Grand Slams wins.

Team Hawks wins Against The Kites in World Team Tennis
This Christmas Eve “Team Hawks” won over “The Kites” in an event in Dubai for World Team Tennis. Dominic Thiem and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova clinched the victory for the Hawks in their Mixed Doubles win over Sania Mirza and Holger Rune 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. The event saw some great matches with Auger-Aliassime picking up a strong win against Zverev 6-4 6-3 and a very surprising upset with underdog Rybankina beating world #1 Swiatek 6-3 6-1.

Forbes Wealthiest Female Athletes
In the annual release of Forbes Highest paid female Athletes, tennis superstars Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams took the top two spots. Naomi Osaka came in first with 51.1 Million Dollars compromising of 1.1 million dollars on field and 50 million dollars off field. Serena Williams was behind her at 41.3 million dollars, with .3 million dollars on field and 41 million dollars off field.

Venus Williams Awarded Wild Card for Australian Open
Venus Williams will be awarded a wild card for the Australian open at age 42. She played her first Grand Slam Tournament 25 years ago and has amassed 7 Singles Grand Slams wins and 9 Runner ups. In doubles she is an impressive 14-0 in Grand Slam Finals from 1999 – 2016 with her sister Serena Williams as a doubles partner.
This will be an exciting and tough tournament for Venus as she is ranked outside the top 1000 and lost her most recent competitive match in 2022 in the first round of the US open to unseeded Alison Van Uytvanck of Belgium.

This is a remarkable comeback for Zverev who was escorted off the courts my medical staff in last years French Open after tearing three lateral ligaments in his right ankle.
